Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
People & Environment Action (PEA) improves access to safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene services to protect communities from waterborne diseases and strengthen resilience in emergency and development settings.
People & Environment Action (PEA) implements integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programs that improve public health, dignity, and community resilience. Our interventions focus on increasing access to safe and sustainable water sources, promoting proper sanitation practices, and strengthening hygiene awareness among vulnerable populations.
PEA supports the rehabilitation and construction of water systems, boreholes, shallow wells, water storage facilities, and sanitation infrastructure in underserved and crisis-affected communities. We also conduct hygiene promotion campaigns, community mobilization, and behavior change activities to reduce the spread of waterborne diseases and improve household hygiene practices.
Our WASH interventions prioritize vulnerable groups including women, children, displaced populations, and pastoralist communities, while promoting environmental sustainability and community ownership for long-term impact.
