Livelihoods and Food Security
People & Environment Action (PEA) supports vulnerable communities to strengthen livelihoods, improve food security, and build resilience through sustainable income-generating activities, agricultural support, and economic empowerment initiatives.
People & Environment Action (PEA) implements livelihood and food security programs that help vulnerable households recover, sustain income, and improve self-reliance in both humanitarian and development contexts. Our interventions focus on strengthening local capacities, improving agricultural productivity, and supporting sustainable economic opportunities for communities affected by drought, displacement, poverty, and climate-related shocks.
PEA supports communities through livelihood diversification, vocational skills training, small business support, cash assistance, climate-smart agriculture, livestock support, and market-based recovery initiatives. We also promote sustainable farming practices, access to productive resources, and community resilience mechanisms to reduce food insecurity and economic vulnerability.
Special attention is given to women, youth, displaced populations, and pastoralist communities to ensure inclusive participation and long-term socio-economic empowerment. Through integrated and community-driven approaches, PEA contributes to building resilient livelihoods and improving household food security across Ethiopia.
